Formatting a PC can be a complicated process, and it's important to do it correctly to avoid losing important data or damaging your computer. Here are some steps you can follow to format a PC:
1. Backup your data: Before you start formatting your PC, make sure you backup all your important files, photos, videos, and documents to an external hard drive, cloud storage, or USB drive. This will ensure that you don't lose any important data during the formatting process.
2. Create a bootable USB drive: You will need to create a bootable USB drive with the Windows installation files. You can download the Windows ISO file from the official Microsoft website and use a tool like Rufus or Windows Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB drive.
3. Boot from USB drive: Once you have created the bootable USB drive, restart your PC and boot from the USB drive. You can do this by changing the boot order in the BIOS settings. Make sure to select the correct boot device to start the installation process.
4. Choose the installation type: During the installation process, you will be prompted to choose the type of installation. Select "Custom" installation, which will allow you to format your hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows.
5. Format the hard drive: You will see a list of partitions on your hard drive. Select the partition where you want to install Windows and click on the "Format" button to erase all data on the partition.
6. Install Windows: Once the hard drive has been formatted, you can proceed with the installation process. Follow the prompts to select your language, time zone, and keyboard layout. You will also need to enter your Windows product key.
7. Install drivers and software: Once Windows is installed, you will need to install the necessary drivers for your hardware components such as graphics card, sound card, and network adapter. You can download the drivers from the manufacturer's website. You can also install any additional software you need, such as antivirus software or productivity tools.
